So this weekend I've been a little bit busy - I ran the virtual London Marathon! After saying I'd never run more than 5km, this weekend saw me complete my 3rd marathon. The first one I did was to raise money for school, this was when were first planning to get the MUGA. This time I was raising money for a very close friend of mine, who has secondary breast cancer. 26.2 miles gives you a lot of thinking time and it really made me appreciate what I have. I know we are all moaning about having to wear face masks, not being able to spend time with friends and family like we normally would but in the grand scheme of things it's really not that bad. We know that, eventually, there'll be an end to all that and things will return to normal at some point soon. Meanwhile there are people, like my friend Jo, who are facing so much more in the months ahead.
This week, in our whole school worship, we are going to be thinking about those who are struggling to cope during the current pandemic, we will be thinking about the people who are ill and suffering, who don't know what tomorrow's going to look like. Our Harvest collection is going towards those who often don't have enough money to afford food for their family. It may just be a small gesture but it's one we can all do. So, if you can, take a minute to be thankful for what you have and spare a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves.
Take care and stay safe
