Mrs Finch's Blog 23/4/20

Date: 23rd Apr 2020 @ 6:57pm

As we find ourselves in continuing times of uncertainty the teachers and I have decided to start writing a weekly blog.  These will give some guidance on the types of activities that you can try with your children to keep them entertained and active during these very strange times.

As a parent myself I know how difficult it is to get the children to complete school work when they are at home but my two are finding it quite reassuring at the minute that by doing little activities each day they'll be ready for when school life returns to normal and they can go back to being with their friends in school every day.

There's no pressure to complete all the activities and within the website there are so many different types of activities that I am positive you'll find something that you can enjoy doing with your child.  Use our facebook page as an opportunity to showcase what they have been doing, giving them a purpose for their work (i.e. they'll be showing their teachers and friends) might just make them a bit more enthusiastic about doing it.  I know some children are loving doing the activities suggested by their teachers and it is wonderful to see all the fantastic things that you have been doing - please keep this up! I know those children will enjoy the extra weekly challenges that they will be set.

The important thing to remember is enjoy spending time together, if nothing else this pandemic has allowed us to slow down, spend quality time together and appreciate the lovely weather that we have been having.  Hopefully everyone has been able to do some exercise such as walking the dog, riding bikes, going for walks with family as this is such an important activity for looking after our mental health.

Remember also, if anyone is struggling, we're still here for you. Drop me an email and I'll make sure to give you a call. Sometimes just a chat with someone different is a great pick me up.

Take care, stay safe and look out for the weekly blogs on your class pages.
