Mrs Finch's Blog 13/7/20
Date: 12th Jul 2020 @ 7:55pm
Well we've made it! We're on that final home straight now, with only a week to go until we officially finish for summer. It's certainly been an emotional one this year. 2020 will go down in history as the year that never quite got going. We had so many plans for the end of the school year that we have just had to watch pass us by. It's been so frustrating to miss out on all the wonderful activities and achievements that the end of a school year brings and it's with a sense of sadness that I am writing my final blog of the school year.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of my wonderful school staff, they have gone along with the everchanging plans and been a tower of support throughout the lockdown. They have always put the children first and have spent endless hours planning fun activities to complete at home whilst also looking at how we can make September as normal as possible. Those who have been on the rota in school have worked tirelessly to make the school day as enjoyable as possible too, making sure that the key worker children have felt safe and happy in an environemnt which should be so familiar yet has been completely different to everything they know.
I am so proud to say that I am the headteacher of St Aidan's Primary School and I know I always refer to our school as a family but I mean it more than ever now. We've all stood strong and got through these uncertain times together, keeping our famliies and friends safe in the best ways we know how. I'm really looking forward to September when we can all meet up again. It will be different and I will keep you all as updated as possible. Please rest assured that whatever plans we have to put in place, it will be in the best interests of the children and staff in school.
Keep an eye on your emails and text messages this week - books and PE kits will be available for collection and each class will be given specific times. Please only come to school at the times stated on your text messages as we will be putting everything outside to be collected.
Have a lovely summer, continue to stay safe and I look forward to that time when we can all be in school together again.
